April 02, 2011
Greetings, best wishes

... and welcome everyone to this latest Choose Wellness Newsletter. It seems that I have missed March and here it is April already.

The news since the disastrous earthquake and tsunami that devastated parts of Japan continues to concern us all, especially now with the continued talk about the radiation risk from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. As if it wasn't enough for so many thousands of people to lose their lives, their homes and their families!

I thought you may be interested to read this article from Harvard Health Publications about the radiation risk in Japan.

Microscopic Fungus Threatens Your Life

This health report comes from Dr Robert J Rowen who is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of California at San Francisco. He has been board certified and re- certified by the American Boards of Family Practice and Emergency Medicine. He is currently certified by the American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicology. He also served on the Alaska State Medical Board. Dr. Rowen is known as "The Father of Medical Freedom" for pioneering the nation's first statutory protection for alternative medicine in 1990.

A senior U.S. researcher has recently sent an open letter to GMO-promoting USDA Secretary Vilsack. Dr. Don Huber, a Purdue professor emeritus told Vilsack that a team of scientists has recently discovered a new pathogen that could threaten life on the planet. It's a fungus that is so small it's the size of a virus. It infects both plants AND animals! Dr. Huber termed the discovery "an emergency."

There are high concentrations of the pathogen in Roundup-ready products (including corn and soy) and in the stomachs and placentas of animals fed these crops. The pathogen causes sudden death syndrome in soy and corn. It also causes spontaneous abortions and infertility in farm animals. This possibly could explain the escalating epidemic of infertility and spontaneous abortions we've seen recently in U.S. livestock.

"The more you understand about the sources of the food you eat, the easier it is to develop the positive mental association of life force that comes to you through the food, and the easier it becomes to choose only the best food! This week, make a list of all the places your food originates. If you buy it at a store, ask the grocer the source of food that's not labeled. If you ate only locally produced food, what would you eat?" (The Science of Being Well)

More About GMOs

His academic work is within Technology and Public Policy, and over the past 30 years, Dr. Bereano's work has focused on genetically engineered organisms (GMOs) in foods, crops and animals, as well as human genetic engineering issues.

Watch a video or read the transcript of this interview as Dr Mercola talks to Dr Bereano about his fears.
