Choose Wellness -- February 2011 February 23, 2011 |
Greetings, best wishes ... and welcome everyone to this latest Choose Wellness Newsletter. Well this year we sure are learning some lessons about the forces of nature. While in parts of the Northern hemisphere there have been lower than normal temperatures and fierce snow storms, here in Australia we have had disastrous floods in southern Queensland, the biggest cyclone for many years causing widespread damage in Northern Queensland, floods in Victoria and fires in Western Australia ... and just yesterday there has been a massive earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by these natural disasters. Click the link to view some photos from the aftermath of cyclone Yasi.
People have shown their generosity in many ways by donating to the Flood Appeal. The Variety Club Youth Choir recently organised a FLASH MOB where they all mingled in the Food Hall at the Karrinyup shopping centre in Perth (Western Australia), and then started standing up in groups singing "We Are Australians". Their idea was to raise money for the recent Queensland floods. Just by clicking on this link and watching the video, you too can add your support to the flood victims - the money will be raised thru Google Ads. Please watch. It's a very easy way to add your support.

But is that a good thing?I have always wondered if it was a good idea to be adding fluoride to water supplies thereby denying people the right to make their own decision, but I had assumed that if it was improving our dental health, it couldn't be a bad thing. I am certainly having second thoughts after watching this production from the FireWaterFilm Company. It's really worth taking the time to view this movie... and, just today another on the same subject arrived in my inbox - - also worth watching.
Would you know if you were having a heart attack? We've heard about the sudden stabbing pain in the chest, the cold sweat, the pain down the arm - but do you realise that it doesn't always happen like that? Here is one woman's (a nurse) story about what happened to her. I had a heart attack at about 10:30pm with NO prior exertion, NO prior emotional trauma that one would suspect might have brought it on. I was sitting all snugly and warm ... read on to get the full story..
