Choose Wellness -- Jan/09 January 14, 2009 |
Greetings all ...and a very big Welcome to those of you who are receiving your first copy of 'Choose Wellness'. I look forward to a long & friendly association with you all. Well, Christmas has been and gone again .. and all so quickly! Here it is mid-January already. Hope it all went well with you over the Christmas Season, and that you have made a great start to the New Year. Maybe, like me, you were able to catch up on some reading during the holiday break. I don't get around to reading as much as I'd like, but did manage to read a few books while holidaying. One that I found particularly interesting was Three Cups of Tea an amazing story about one man's mission to Promote Peace … One School at a Time. Greg Mortenson, and journalist David Oliver Relin, recount the journey that led Mortenson from a failed 1993 attempt to climb Pakistan’s K2, the world’s second highest mountain, to successfully establish schools in some of the most remote regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan. By replacing guns with pencils, rhetoric with reading, Mortenson combines his unique background with his intimate knowledge of the third-world to promote peace with books, not bombs, and successfully bring education and hope to remote communities in central Asia. Three Cups of Tea is an inspiring true story of how one man really is changing the world — one school at a time. It's been around for a while now so you may have already read it but if not click on the link above & you can do your little bit to help in the peace process.
In her How to Find Happiness Toolkit Jennifer Summers tells us 'How to Increase our Confidence, Lower Stress, Become a Happier Person & Enjoy Life More.' To uncover the secrets to living a happier life, just click on the link.

(Apologies to those who can't view images) ![]() Are you one of the many people who have been prescribed statin drugs to reduce your cholesterol level? Interesting Fact: Half of all heart related deaths occur in people who have normal cholesterol levels. Statins are a class of drugs designed to block the production of cholesterol by the body, with the effect of lowering a patient's blood cholesterol levels. According the modern medical mythology, the use of these drugs ultimately lowers the patient's risk for coronary heart disease. We are not told that these drugs are dangerous and can have very serious side effects. Many documented reports detail the severe side effects that otherwise healthy people have experienced after taking these drugs. (I know - I experienced some of these side effects myself when taking Lipitor) We have been brainwashed into believing elevated cholesterol levels are harmful to our health. But consider these benefits that cholesterol provides:
Cholesterol is so important to your body that if you don't get enough from your food, your body will produce more of it. So .. the less fat you eat, the more cholesterol your body will make. Given all the evidence which confirms that cholesterol is protective and necessary for good health, isn't it bizarre that the governments and most physicians work very hard to get people to lower their cholesterol levels as much as possible. The message that cholesterol is harmful has been embedded so deeply that the public doesn't question this misguided and harmful agenda. This information is from an article by Ellen Davis who researches nutrition and health issues and shares that information with other health conscious consumers at her website. ![]()
