I seem to get later each month getting this out to you - sorry!

Last week I received in the mail a reminder that it was time for me to go for another Mammogram. I had decided a couple of years ago that I was not going to submit myself to that indignity again after reading a few articles stating that the breast screening process probably did more harm than good. Hey presto the timely arrival of this article which appeared in my inbox from NaturalNews.com!

"Mammograms Don't Help, They Harm Women"

"Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women.

Many women depend on an annual mammogram to diagnose breast cancer. Recent studies show, however, that an annual mammogram may actually increase your risk of developing breast cancer from 1 to 3 percent. This is because the breast is one of the parts of the body most sensitive to radiation exposure."

"Since mammograms were introduced, the occurrence of a form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) has increased by over 300%. Two hundred percent of this increase is thought to be due to mammography."

I think I'll stand by my decision to forget the mammogram.

Isn't it amazing how things happen? I had just written this piece about mammograms when along came this light hearted look at mammograms in the form of an email.

I have been reading a lot about the quality, or not, of water recently especially as our 'water treatment system' just decided to 'give up the ghost' after many years.

Along came this week's EClub News from Phillip Day with an interesting article about High Blood Pressure and the role played by water in its treatment.

I was very interested to read what he had to say - especially as I had paid a rare visit to a GP last week (only because I thought I had been bitten by a spider or some such - it turned out I have shingles - not very pleasant, and hence the lateness of this newsletter). The GP was more concerned because my blood pressure was high and, of course, prescribed some drugs for me.
